What is ECU Remapping?
All modern vehicles are controlled by an ECU. Our technicians will tweak the ECU to reprogramme, or map, the vehicle to perform differently. Our tweaks can increase the performance, power and fuel economy of the vehicle. Our team do not change any hardware within the vehicle.
In most cases, the map stored within the ECU can be accessed by the onboard diagnostics port. Our team will be able to easily access this. In some cases, our team may need to remove it from the vehicle and reprogramme it on the bench.
What happens during the process?
Our mechanics will adjust the parameter of the ECU to maximise the performance, fuel economy or a blend of the two. Due to the location of the ECU, the whole process takes about 2-4 hours from start to finish.
